Non Rant - What's a Happy Time for You?

So much negativity these days ... this was a refreshing change of pace.

Exactly why I did it. I like to celebrate the little things in life being that most of the big stuff is behind me. Also, it took many years to learn it's the little things that matter the most.

24 hours from now, I'll be in the woods in NWA with my brother sitting by a camp fire.

Life is good....

Been a loooong time,
But I loved-Laughing with buddies after incoming rounds missed every one of us!

Happiness is being out of beer, and reaching down into all that ice in the cooler and finding one.

Wow. This one's tough.

In no particular order, except the one about my wife laughing...

1. Hearing my wife laugh.

2. Very first NRA Highpower rifle match, 600yd line, AR15 national match rifle, iron sights, hearing "X! 10! X!...can't remember anything after that. I still can't believe it.

3. Warm summer evening, lined up on final, trim set, and the bird just glides untouched all the way to flare, like it's on rails. (This one's for you, FeralMerill!)

4. Four months into TrapShooting, registered targets...98 of 100. Still haven't gotten close to that again.

5. Crawling out of the tent in the Sierras, nippy morning, coffee on. Wow.

6. Doctor says "good news, it's not cancer."

"God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy"

Happiness begins on a brisk Fall day at first light as nature wakes up and I and my two German Shepherds (Max and Riley)wander around the place with a hot cup of coffee in hand. The slience and then the gradual calls of the birds and the way the sun peeks thru the oaks and pines along with the sparkle of a heavy dew announces a new day is dawning. The smell of the pines, the mustiness of last summer's garden, the cold north wind, the warm cup in my hands, the frisky dogs, the explosion of colors all signal, its good to be alive. Its a prayer in motion. Amen!

Thanks Everybody!

Lot's of good stuff, folks. Most sound great to me except I don't want to experience the "incoming" like one person posted. Thanks to those that have.

Once again, thanks for the replies. I've enjoyed all of them.

Sincerely,

Since it's Autumn:
1. Sunsets in Autumn. I am a conoisseur of sunsets, those in Autumn are the best.
2. Walking-or bicycling along the Delaware and Raritan Canal Towpath here in Central NJ, seeing leaves in the water.
3. Autumn is cider pressing season here in NJ, we have quite a few orchards despite all the building. You get it fresh, and no preservatives.
4. Burning leaves. Unfortunately it was outlawed in NJ years ago, I have to go across the river to Pennsylvania to get my "fix".

RV4driver, thanks! Thats a fine looking brid. What mountain range is that? I did fly a 172 a couple weeks ago to get my feet wet again, was fun.
