I have a 101 Supergrade that was nearly mint. I shot a round of skeet with it and then cleaned it as usual. I put it back in to its fitted luggage case and it stayed there about 2 weeks. I took it out and the side that was down against the fabric has a thousand "freckles" ( for lack of a better term). I believe these were rust and when I cleaned the fine orange powder off with an oil rag, I was left with the black freckles as I call them. The receiver is not blue but neither is it stainless but it does have the appearance of stainless. Does anyone know of a place that could refinish this? I really cannot stand the rust spots. I'm not concerned with any collector value, its a shooter. I just don't want it looking this bad. Like the title says, its not a Smith so I didn't put this in the S&W smithing section.

I was looking for a place to get a revolver re blued and found a gunsmith in this forum on the S & W smithing section. His web site is www.gunblue.homestead,com. The guy is located in Boca Raton, Fl.

We exchange e-mail and I am taking the revolver to him end of the month so can't atest to the workmanship yet.

I got a Winchester 101, 20 ga skeet/skeet. Fine shotgun. Hope you the best of luck
