Very sad news as we suspected, may he rest in peace, he will be missed. He loved guns, motorcycles and pipes. Always friendly and encouraging, giving advice and infos.

The effort that those in many other countries have to go through to enjoy the shooting sports is so much greater than what we have to do in the US. That Mario went to that effort and excelled, is a testament to his patience and perseverance. That he would then share his love of firearms, and other topics with those of us around the world, and do so in a language that was not his native language, speaks volumes about Mario's character.

The phrase is often used, but is truly applicable here.

We are diminished. :(

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

John Donne

Sad news, I enjoyed his posts and comments on my posts. That he was a gentleman always shone through them.
RIP, Mario
From a comment posted Jun 2011, on a Youtube video [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZdCiaYyVkE[/ame]

where he was shooting a single shot .44 percussion pistol

"...shooter, M. Cruz, was already National Champion and World Teams Vice-Champion and is part of the Portuguese National Team that will be at the coming European Championship @ Finland..."

Sad news indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed his posts, but suspected that he had passed because it had been so long. R.I.P. Mario, you were a class act sir.

Hi CLASSIC12,

Thanks for compiling those videos of Mario's. Great Stuff!

I got to know Mario through this thread ....Plus a couple other great forum members, guys I proudly and happily call my friends:

Ball and Caps?

We actually started our own little group discussions via email, so as not to clutter the PM system here. We have kept in close contact all this time.

We are all quite saddened at the loss of our friend Mario.

We miss you!

Jim

I'm still a bit shocked:

Mario (born June 1957) was not much older as me (born Nov. 1957) 🤔!

Mario loved shooting and was a very good shooter, up to top- National
and International (Europe & World Championships) level.

He also loved bikes.
