Now I really know that I am getting OLD.

Almost the same thing happened to me. I was going out the door and
felt a sharp pain on the top of my right hand. When I got in the car, I
couldn't help but notice I was bleeding like a stuck hog. I'm also on a
blood thinner. When back inside and put a little anti-biotic ointment on
it and bound it up. It was right on top of one of those big veins in the
back of the hand. I change dressing every day, and now about a week
later, it looks like it's healed. BTW I know I'm old. 86

I'm 78 and still working around the house I'm not as flexible anymore and bump around, drop a hammer on myself, stab myself with a screwdriver. I don't notice the outcome of this until the end of the day when I see the red skin or blood or bumps. Fortunetly I have above average platelet count and don't bleed to much.

Couple the @#$%^ scrapes with the bruises from who-knows-where, along with the basal cell carcinoma extractions (gleefully removed by any number of dermatologists), and don't get me started about the friggin' fiber thing, and what do you have?

A geezer in training! Ain't quite there, but I'm workin' on it.......

I take a daily blood pressure med., and eat aspirin like candy for lower back pain. So any little cut or bruise bleeds like crazy. My bald head usually wears a band-aide somewhere. In my garage/workshop, I'm constantly banging my head on something. So every corner, edge, shelf, or hanging tool has a name ( if ya know what I mean :p ).

Whenever I walk through a door or out a door or down the hall I can't help but bang my elbows on something and wind up with bruises on them. My skin has gotten so thin and easy to tear I can just slightly scrape something and I'm bleeding. Beats anything I have ever seen. I take 2 blood thinners. I took Plavix and a baby aspirin once a day for the last 12 months and now my doctor has taken me off the Plavix just this last week but I will take the baby aspirin from now on. Maybe some of the bruising and bleeding will slow down a little. Growing old comes with lots of changes in our lives, don't it.

I don't take blood thinners or aspirin but everything I touch causes me too turn purple or bleed like a stuck hog. When I was young I could handle a steel winch line with bare hands but now I need gloves to handle cotton rope.
I can remember thinking that when the going gets tough the tough get going. Now I think when the going gets tough the intelligent quit. Larry
