NY Gun Law Casualty - Reenactments

NY State officials and courts could not care less what religious groups think about the new laws.
They know they have the Jewish vote locked in no matter what.

They have it locked down in the event the politicians do what they want them to. Every NY governor has been caught bending over backwards for that demographic. Telling them they can't protect their synagogues will not go well for them.

But what they will do is somehow deputize the armed guards, or the community will pay them a dollar a week and they will now be paid security, which is exempt from the law. The question is if they have the nerve to do it since every other church will do the same and then they'll have an issue on their hands.

Curious how this will fly with some New York area mosques, where assault rifles are not uncommon.

Having attended many reenactment events at Old Fort Niagara over the years the period-correct actors that participate at these events, eat sleep and breath what they are creating. Unlike a Hollywood movie set smoke pole check in and safety was very present and well organized. SCOPE had many active members who enjoyed doing these events, leave it to NY to mess a good thing up.

The new law is already receiving some heavy pushback from the religious community. In NY, the democrats have bent over backwards to win the vote of the Hasidic population. That community is tight and they vote 100% one way. There has been a big uptick in anti-Semitic hate crimes in NY and members of those communities do not take kindly to being told they can't carry to protect themselves, particularly at their houses of worship which have been targets. The Governor is catching some major heat over it. Don't think she saw that one coming.
Hasidic? Not necessarily.
Jewish voters are 80% Democrat, making them the most loyal voting demographic in the country. The number is probably higher in NY. I don't think there is any danger of splitting off the Jewish vote over gun control issues. NY was already one of the most restrictive states and there hasn't been a voter revolt yet.
