Does anybody know who has some .38 Special Nyclads in stock?

My little model 38 Airweight Bodyguard is dying to try some!

Nyclads!

Found them at the Cabelas in Lacey, Wa. on vacation last weekend for $14.99 a box of 20... so I bought three boxes. They had a pile!

I have a GS near me with some on the shelf but they don't ship! Was thinking of some for a 1941 Hand Ejector I have.

I bought a supply of new Nyclads recently --ordered from local gun shop and have seen them in shows. Also available online at some of the well known sites. $22 for 20 is a good price. They shoot very soft and accurate. They are my choice in my 442 stainless.

I got 100 rounds (2 fifty round boxes) of Federal Nyclad plus P (125 grain IIRC) for 44.00 at my local shop.

They had a ton of them the other day.

How's this for useless, slightly off-topic, trivia?:

I had some of the old 125 grain Chief's Special Nyclads in my Model 60 when I was stationed on Guam. On one particularly boring night, having tired of shooting the great big toads that came out on the roads every evening, I took a shot at a coconut about twenty feet up a tree. It dropped to the ground and after a few minutes of roadside surgery with a bayonet I had a perfectly mushroomed Nyclad in my palm.

I can't say how it works on people, but it is perfect for coconuts.

Cool story SigP220. :D

I just left my local toy store. He said he would order me some if he can find any.

While I was there, I did pick up a box of Speer Short Barrel 135gr +P Gold Dots for my model 64-2 snubbie. I also fondled a 4 inch model 66 NO DASH with big target stocks that he has marked at $495.

Thinking about maybe some lay-a-way or maybe I can try to talk him down to $400 or even $450 OTD. $495 is a little bit high, don'tcha think?

The urge to type grossly politically incorrect jokes is almost overwhelming...

I didn't think they made them in a +P load?

Yep, I got one box right here with me.

Federal Premium 38 special (+P) 125 gr. Nyclad Hollow point. The number on the bottom of the flap says P38N. Not sure if that is the load number or what.

*sigh* well...I hate using +Ps in my model 64-2 and NON +Ps in my model 38, but I've heard too many tales of craked frames in the Airweights, so I reckon I'll continue to tote two different loads.

I know, I know...10 rounds of +P ain't gonna hurt my Bodyguard if I gotta use 'em against a bad guy during an armed encounter, but...

Good news from me on the Airweight! I have a 638 that has happily digested about 800 rounds of +P Speer SB 135's and the even hotter Double Tap 125's. Probably that much again of normal pressure stuff. No cracks so far!

I thought about trading my model 38 from 1985-86 for a "new" 638 or something.

But I just couldn't make myself.

My 442 and 642 are both rated for plus P.

I still try to practice with standard pressure loads though. I got both j frames used for 350 so if I break one, it won't be that big of a deal.

I can't find anyone online that carries that Nyclad plus P load. I wonder if I should go buy up some more?

The +P load was discontinued years ago. Federal recently re-introduced the standard velocity 125gr Nyclad. If you've got a line on the +P version, I'd pick up at least one more box.
