Odd Gun Store Combinations

Kinda sounds like crew change day in Delcambre. :D
Thread drift, sorry:
Caj, years ago when I worked for Arthur Levy Towing Co. out of Morgan City, I was sitting at a bar (boat was in the yard in Berwick)one night and a fellow came in with a model 94 at ready and hollered "Don nobody move!" and shot the fellow two stools from me. I watched it very clearly in the backbar mirror. He left, shortly afterwards so did I, and I sat, wide awake in the parking lot until opening time in front of Levys office, picked up a check and got this 17 year old Texas boy back across the Sabine.
I believe it was a "marital dispute".

AND, a men's room as an excuse to stop!

I discovered one on a motorcycle trip about 1999 or so. Tiny little town of Ohio City, Colorado, in the Mountains near Gunnison. Old time general store with everything you would need or expect in a general store.

There was a room off to the side with more guns and gear than you can imagine. The owner was a big time gun crank.

On my first trip to SD we were driving out in the middle of nowhere and there was an old abandoned gas station at a crossroads. On the side of the building someone had written in black paint, guns, used cars and beer.
When I lived in the St. Louis area, there was a gas station a-ways out of town that had a sign which proclaimed:

"Gas, Guns, and Beer"

I wasn't sure that was necessarily a prudent combination, but they did have .303 British surplus rounds for a quarter each. :D

Not guns, but we had a store out here that sold ferns and car batteries. But my favorite is in Sonora, Ca. called The Sportsman. The gun counter is in the back, and down the entire left side is a long counter with stools where they sold beer and wine. ammo was/is behind that bar on shelves by the beer refrigerator. How politically incorrect is that? You could read gun magazines while drinking beer. Interesting, I noticed the ammo was stuff like 25-35, .32 Special, 30-40 Krag, etc. mostly. showing those old guns were still used a lot in the surrounding hills. The rest of the place were knives and touristy stuff. I love this place.

Wyatt;
Is that still there? That's awesome. Not to mention, in CA as well.
Very cool.

My dad snapped this pic at the Arthur Murray gun shop and dance school.

Steve really looks wasted :p

We have and also HAD--a few odditie combos. In my old hometown of Kingsville--they had a Flower/Gun Shop, and another there besides Hardware Stores (all sold guns) was a Health Food and Hobby/Gun Shop, and then there was Harrells Pharmacy that also sold guns. Here in Corpus--Nichols Pharmacy has been selling Guns quite awhile now--and are currently building an indoor gun range.

Moe's Barber shop in Key West just off Duval sells handguns. Moe was originally from the Iron range in MN and when he was discharged from the Navy married a Conch and stayed in Key West.

Not guns but there is barber shop in St. Andrew Scotland that has a sign in the window that says free whiskey with a haircut. I didn't really need one but walked over to get a haircut but they were just closing. Do you suppose they meant free whiskey tomorrow ?

The first gunshop I was ever in was Nelsons Firestone in Corydon Indiana.
Garage, tires and guns.
Get your new tires and a break job while you looked over the handguns and fair amount of rifles & shotguns. :)

Usta' buy Winchester rimfire (white box with a red X:D) for 50 cents a box.

Winner SD has a Radio Shack and gun store. And it's a nice one too. Then there used to be one in a men's clothing store in Columbia, MO, they were an Orvis fly shop and had class 3 license. Looked at an MP5 there.

We usually stop in there each year. I think they are separate entities that share a building, but not sure.

Dad bought me my first handgun, my Ruger Single Six, at Payless Drug in Wenatchee. I bought my first 10-22 at JC Penney, also in Wenatchee. Neither sell firearms any more.

Years ago I lived in Memphis, Tennessee. When you crossed over to West Memphis in Arkansas one of the first buildings you would see off to one side of the highway had a huge sign on top that simply said "GUNS BEER". That one would appear to cover two vitally important things with only one stop!
