I have an old box of factory 357 lead swc loads. The bullet is tiny. I have never seen a swc with this small of a profile. I am talking about the part that is not in the case.
Anything on the box about a gas check? If so, leading would be less of an issue even with softer lead.
Those are 1970s vintage. Not a bad load but my lead a bit.
Sounds like a "Full Wadcutter" reload to me
Edit- "Double -ended Wadcutter' is what I meant

Here you go from Max.
Are they these? These taught me how to properly clean a gun they leaded so badly.
I too remember those, bullet crimped down with just a small lead "head" sticking above the case mouth. Box said "R357M11" or something like that. Joe
