OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

On their website, you have can it email you and alert you when said product is in stock. Let's see how good it works. There's a store kinda far from me that a friend of mine goes to for me, always says the stuff is in stock, he gets there, and they turn him away, or tell him a guy with like 7 people buy up all the ammo. Honestly, the whole hoarding thing is a little stupid. I understand having 500-1000rds. But when you start going past that, you're just being a jerk to new gun owners like myself, who can't even use the gun I bought, because I can't shoot it. I have some Self-Defense ammo, but that's too expensive to fire at the ranges, and a few ranges around here don't want you shooting that. If anyone here in Metro Detroit wouldn't mind throwing a young, new gun owner a bone and would be willing to sell me a box or two, I would appreciate it! PM me!

So what your saying is im a jerk for wanting more than 1000 rounds on hand? I shoot that in a couple weeks come summer. In fact i have 5700 as of now and am still trying to get more. I don't want July to come around and be empty handed. your new you have yet to learn about being prepared.

HELP, please. I can't figure out how to check on the stock in the local store.

When the app loads up at the top left it says Walmart. Click on that. A tool bar opens up and you need to click on the stores icon. Then as long as you have GPS enabled it will show all the stores in your area. Otherwise you might have to enter you zip code. Just click on you local store and then on the next page click on "make this my store.

Walmart is on a *** system. It shows up as in stock when the unloaders unload the trucks and scan the packages unloaded. As it is passed over a register scanner it is taken out of the inventory and then when all the in stock merchandise the system says you have is scanned then it goes to out of stock.

It shows up as in stock when it is scanned as its unloaded, not when it is loaded on a truck at the distribution center. The store management gets a print out of what is supposed to be on the truck but stores can be shorted at the warehouse.

The system updates instantly all day as items are sold, returned, or adjusted in the system through a tel on or smart system at a computer terminal.

Good luck and good hunting.

I worked at walmart part time last summer. Unloaded lots of trucks. Nothing was ever scanned coming off the truck

The app helped me score a 555 Winchester pack!!! They also had a few m22 1000 packs but I did not need that much so I just got the last 555. It filled my stash holes, so I'm set for the time being. I'll need cci SV come later summer for my target pistols... but Wally world doest have it in my aera

Should have got the m22! I would have paid shipping on that. Boy scouts and 4h are in need here and I have been trying to find some. Granted I'm not going to pay armslist prices for it lol

Same here with the M22. Since I missed it the other night at my local store it has showed up in stock and limited stock at 2 different stores and when I call they say they don't have anything...

Most likely there are some Walmart employees that have M22 in stock now....

This has happened to me a couple of times and took a a couple of weeks to figure out. In my area the "in stock" status will change about midnight EST. If the item says in stock then it will be available when the store allows ammo to be sold. Which in my case would be 7 am. Last Saturday I hit local Walmart at 6:15 am and stood in line....waiting. Sure enough everything that showed in stock at midnight was available.

Around 8:30 am is when the Walmart inventory showed "not in stock" so I would think the *** software updates down ticks pretty close to real time.

In regards to "limited stock". After speaking to several people at different stores the inventory will ghost 1 box and cause the system to show limited stock. Do I believe this? I dunno I can't believe a billion dollar company would have problems with inventory system - but did get same type of story from several stores in different towns, so who knows?

Former assistant mgr at several wal-marts we had someone scanning each box as it came off the truck that's the only way to verify that what you got from the warehouse on the truck was what was on the bill of lading. Don't know about your wal-mart.

First of all, I finally found some 223 ammo at my local Walmart after months of coming up empty handed. But I discovered another problem with shopping at Walmart after 10PM. Shortly after 10PM a young clerk brought up a few cases of ammo. I asked if he had any 223 in stock, and he replied yes, it just came and proceeded to hand me 3 boxes. The older female clerk standing next to him proceeded in a very loud voice with me standing right there, that the ammo WAS NOT supposed to be brought out and told the young clerk to take it back to the back room. She then told the young man that if he was going to give me 3 boxes, that HE could walk up to the front register with me, that she was NOT going to. The young man was very polite and quickly offered to walk me up to pay for the ammo. One the way I asked him about the other clerk and why she was so angry. He said that store policy dictates that a sales clerk walk the customer who is buying ammo, up to the front register as the sporting goods register closes at 10PM. The crabby older woman didn't want to do that so she was telling them not to stock the ammo until morning. That is BS. If they have it in stock, it should be put out on the shelf. So this is just one more complication to face when looking for ammo at Walmart. Not only have they stopped (I hope it's only temporary) listing certain calibers of ammo on their website as in stock or not, but now we have to put up with clerks who do not want to do their job and sell it even when they have it to sell. If I hadn't been standing right there when the ammo was brought out, it would have been taken away and put back in the store room and I once again would have come away empty handed. Things are never simple.

OK, I've tested this app for approximately two weeks and it does work. There are some different things that need to all come together, timing, luck, persistance and Walmart employees that are willing to help and actually go in the back to look for what you're there for. I have also encountered the unwilling employees and I'm not one to be combative or confrontive with these particular individuals.

Between the hours of 7:00 last night and 7:15 this morning at three different stores my husband and I were able to score 2,999 rounds of 22 lr. Two 1,000 M22 Winchester's that the employees had to retrieve and 3 333 Winchester packs that were just being brought out this morning. This was after a long dry spell of nothing in stock anywhere in our area. Seeing 9mm in the cabinet just waiting on someone tells me that things may be improving in general. Definitely looking forward to a lot of target practice over the next several months. Good luck and happy hunting!

Just a note for those of you looking for the Winchester M-22 ammo... it most likely shows "Limited stock" because it comes in a box that only has 2 of the 1000 round bricks in it. I scored both boxes of it right off a truck one night and watched the clerk open the carton myself. I imagine only 2 of an item should show limited stock on any website. Also, when I purchased it I checked in the car and it showed OOS so I think the app works well.

Impressive... My stash is down to 10K rounds now, but that is because I have shot/sold over 20K rounds in the last 8 weeks. The best part of that is I bought every last round of it at regular retail prices and during the "shortage". 95% of it was scored by using the WM website and app. The most expensive ammo I have bought was 7 cents a round for some CCI 500 round bricks, and that was because of the shipping charges from buying it online.

Do I feel like a gouger? No! Not at all because I have sold every box at my cost and my cost only. A hoarder maybe, but since I got my 15-22 in January I have been shooting a lot more and now my wife is getting into it too. It may be a little ridiculous that I have bought over 30K rounds this year, but I don't feel bad. I have helped at least 15 people get ammo that needed it, and I have plenty myself to shoot for a while.

I have quit looking for it though... But you can bet if I stumble across some I will get it. :D

My brother-in-law was speaking with an Walmart employee in the sporting good section, and was told that the same guy comes in every morning checking on ammo and buys everything he can get for rimfire and handguns. Even said they had seen his total come to over $800. So much for 3 box limit.

Ours showed the 555 boxes in stock and the M22 as limited tonight and we know that that means they only had two.

Showed up at 9:45 and there it was on the pallet. Old man got the only 3 boxes of 555 and his son right in front of me took the two M22 boxes....

Next time around I am showing up 2 hours early and pitching a tent and whatever comes off that pallet I get first pick.

I don't doubt that some of these Walmart Employees are calling in people to pick up ammo to resell.

Well I had another questionable situation tonight as well.

An employee personally walked someone back to the counter as they were unpacking the stuff and he was expecting to get some of the 22. They were both acting funny and I probably should have hung around the store and watch because I would bet money he walked out with some 22 after we all left..I seen him talking to another employee in another part of the store afterwards...

He was either an employee not on the clock, or someone they knew and were getting ammo for.

Just what you have to deal with the way things are right now.

Wow, sounds like a real jerk-off move not to offer you at least one of the 555rnd boxes since they had just got over 3k rnds...

I scored another 300 rnds of .223 tonight at WM. And we even split up 3 cases between everyone that was there that wanted some.
