OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

Scored some Federal Auto Match 325 at Walmart this morning in SW MO. One store sold 3 Max and another sold one max. One store said they didn't have any but I said your app shows you do. She said nope they bring it all out at night. I said that's not what your app shows. She muttered around and finally said if I wanted her to she would go the back and check. Took her a while but she came out with a box of 10. She said they thought it was 12ga. After I bought mine she put the rest of the case under the counter and said if anyone else wanted any they would just have to ask if they wanted any. Weird. Why not just put it out?

Later I had my wife go down to buy some and they said they didn't have any even though their app still showed they did. My wife pressed her and the clerk said that the manager got some and so did someone else. So, I guess he manager had not yet purchased it so it was still showing up. The app was quite accurate in checking in 3 stores.

Thought I would post an update:

Finally had a chance to talk to someone at corporate. They did take my info, understood what I was saying, and they said someone would get back to me (at my request). I told her I can't imagine a billion dollar company can lose 40 boxes of 22LR, but I'm sure the ATF would be interested to find out how they do that.

So the local store manager called me the next morning. Basically he's going to look into it, understands the frustration, and make sure the store inventory numbers are updated. He couldn't explain other than the warehouse has made mistakes before, saying they shipped items when they didn't. I said losing 40 boxes of ammo is not like losing one or two general products. Basically the brush off. One complaint to corporate - just a PITA customer. Multiple complaints from around the country - then you have a trend.

There's nothing to say the manager wasn't in on it or is completely blind to it. Probably thinks I'm a gun nut-job, but I was generally polite about it. I just kept pressing how is it not in their inventory one hour, there the next, scanned in-store as available, but nowhere to be found. Again, the more people call the more of a trend it becomes. Just need to be a PITA like we're doing with Congress - keep calling and bugging them. I refuse to pay the nutty prices, so to me this is worth the fight.

Another UPDATE

I just received a call from the weekend store manager I dealt with last weekend. They apparently are taking this complaint seriously. It's also the first complaint they've had (at their store). Long story short (as I understand it), they did go back to the supplier who said there some boxes that were sent out and some were to come to the store, however it never made it on the truck. So that's been escalated. They are also doing some other cross-check printout from now on to verify everything that was supposed to be shipped is on the trucks. She understood this isn't like missing dish towels and are taking it seriously to find out what happened. I told her this isn't an isolated incident and there are reports of this occurring across the country. But people are also having success in finding ammo with the app too, so it's not like it's an epidemic, but missing ammo is missing ammo. I asked whether this was being escalated company wide? At this point she doesn't think so, but the investigation could change that.

Bottom line is if I hadn't complained, they would likely have never known. So if you're confident that the app shows it's in supposed to be NEWLY in stock (such as a change in the past 24-hours), the store doesn't have it but their bar code scan shows it's supposed to be in stock as well and they can't find it in back, I think it's well worth a polite call to corporate to document your complaint and start an investigation. There's obviously people on-line and at gun shows that have stockpiles of ammo they must be getting from somewhere, who are charging and making huge profits.

However I don't want to just pick on WalMart - I'm sure this is happening in other stores that don't show on-line inventory. The inventory app has been very beneficial for shopping otherwise, and I hope they don't d/c that feature but rather fix the problem.

Not sure how this works

I got the app on my iPhone, made my closest store my preferred store and scanned the barcode off a box of .38 I bought a month ago. All I had was an option to have it added it to my list.

All I see is the price and the aisle it is located in and I can check it move it down under checked items

How do I tell if the the item on my list is in stock or back ordered or what? I click on the item and it doesn't say anything.

I can also change my preferred store but still don't understand where you folks see items in stock?????

The list is worthless in the app. You have to search for each item and when you click on the one you want it will show your local store availability. Click on that and it will show all stores within 50 miles or something.

Go into item details of what you want then click on store price and availability.

Scored again this morning.

1 box of Federal Bulk auto match (325 rounds)

1 box of Remington Golden Bullets (525 rounds

1 box of Tula BrassMax 223 (50 rounds)

This mornings load consisted of 22LR, 380, 38 cal, 9mm, 40cal, 45cal, 223, and 5.56.

One of the largest deliveries I've seen in a while.

Tried again - I think something is up with the stores around me. 0 for 9 now.

One store I watched it come into stock. I checked a couple times that I was around, NOTHING, then I watched it go out of stock.

Strange huh??!!

22lr showed up in my area last night.

Thought about trying for the M22 but it was gone before I decided to go or not.

Whoever it was either brought it out for someone or it was bought buy an employee because they dont stock the shelves untill after 9:30 and it went out of stock at 8:00.

The winchester 555 packs lasted until this morning but I have plenty of them.

The app worked and hour ago. I checked it as I went thru Gadsden. It said Winchester 555 was in stock. I stopped and they had one box left. I bought it and two boxes of Fed 325's. I watched closely as I had dinner and it took 30 minutes to read "Out of Stock" on the 555. I am positive I bought the last box they had.

Went by Wal-Mart this morning (as usual). They had a pretty good variety in stock:
Winchester Whitebox .40 (FMJ and HP)
Winchester Whitebox .45
Winchester 5.56
Tulammo 9mm
Tulammo .223
Tulammo 7.62x39

I'm not saying it's getting better everywhere, but the variety and quantity is improving at this location.

The same thing is going on in my area. The Wal-Mart was stacked with 9mm, 5.56, .40, .45 and a plethera of other ammo. I was impressed to say the least.

Well so much for ammo being put out at 7 a.m. I was there before seven am the app showed remington 225 ct 22lr in stock
the lady that waited on me said she sold the last of them at 5 a.m. this morning

My unfortunate experience working in Inventory Control at Walmart really suggests (especially in 24 hour stores) that stuff hits the shelves exactly when someone puts it there. 7am for stores that open at 7am... unless there is a big truck, or unless its still in the lockup (at the store where I worked, there is a good chance at 7am that it will be in the electronics department in the cage.)

app showed Mt P getting M22 at about 8pm, at 12:05am it was out of stock. I'm gonna make a couple calls tomorrow to see if I can get barred

My local Walmart showed 500 round boxes of Winchester Expert .22 LR for $20.97 in stock on Thursday.

I couldn't get there right away but I got there Friday morning. They said they had none, and hadn't seen any.

I showed up on Saturday. Same thing.

Sunday, the managers came out and told me it could take a day or two after it shows up to actually hit the shelf. Even the auto manager came over and confirmed he may show filters but they are two days out. They scanned the tag where the ammo should be and the computer said they should have 22 boxes.

Monday I called. Haven't seen anything.

Tuesday: Said they didn't get a truck in at all.

Wednesday. Still nothing.

This morning I called and they said they still haven't seen ammo come in. The app nows says out of stock. :(

.

I stopped by the Walmart in Toledo and was pleasantly surprised when I saw five boxes of 100-round Winchester White Box 9mm value packs on the shelf for $24.

Just called the Mount Pleasant Walmart talk to management and was told yes it was not supposed to be put out till 7 a.m. and they were going to look in to see why it was still being put out early in the morning

App showed 45 acp in stock. Went there to get kitty litter and it was indeed in stock. Couldn't bring myself to buy it seeing as how I have 600 rounds and rarely shoot my 45c
