I was just looking over all the requirements to apply for the CCW in Ohio since I'm doing that this coming week and had a question.

On the sheriff's site it states one of the requirements as: A certification that the applicant has read the safety pamphlet produced by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission.

Do any of you know if this is a separate document that I need or is the certification included in part VI of the application? I'm thinking #1 of that section is what they are talking about but I just want to make sure so I have everything I need.

As always, thank you for your responses:)

What Ohio county are you referring too, there's nothing stating that on the State AG sight, other than reading the states handbook on ccw.

Your instructor for the class should have all the details for the requirements application process either given to you or explained, if not, find another instructor.

I'm assuming you are talking about the booklet put out by the Ohio Attoeney General, "Ohio concealed carry laws and license application".

That booklet should be provided and reviewed as a part of your class.

Yes, I have the booklet you mention and have read it several times.

The one I'm "talking about" is how it's phrased on the sheriff's web site. I am assuming it's the same one despite the terminology difference.

My question was mainly regarding the "certification" of having read it.

I looked up the Summit county Sheriff page. I also looked up Ohio peace officer training pamphlet. Plus re-read the Ohio conceal carry license requirements. I'm not sure what they are referring to. ? Sorry,

The OPOTC and AG pamphlets are the same thing. The correct answer to the question is YES.
