OK, how about the Best Pizza??

Well I was out and about and did not feel like making lunch or leftovers so I stopped at Little Caesars for a Hot to Go Cheese. $5 bucks.

Actually was not too bad, even had a nice bubble wart on the cheese.:D

For a chain in this area, definitely Papa Gino's.

But there are too many great small pizzeria's to even consider going to any chain shops.

If ever visiting Boston, go into the North End and you will see what I mean.

Local chain, I would have to pick Larosas. For a national chain, it used to be Godfathers, but I haven't even seen one in years. I used to like Pizza Hut, but don't much any more.

Frozen pizzas have come a long way, some of those are really pretty good. Just tried out a frozen California Pizza Kitchen last night, it was good but kind of expensive.

Does anybody remember Shakey's Pizza Parlors with the straw caddy hats, the foamy beer, and the tin pan alley music? I miss those places. Their pizzas were great, too, and you could watch them toss the dough and prepare your pie right through the glass.

The best chain pizza in the Cleveland area is probably Donato's followed closely by Papa John's.

I can't abide Pizza Hut, and Dominoe's simply isn't pizza at all.

Ceecee's isn't great pizza, but it's at least as good as Pizza Hut, and it's all you can eat buffet. One or two of their varieties are actually quite good.

They had them in the Chicago area in the '60s and early '70s. Good pizza. I remember the massive picnic table type seating.

Donatos is good.I love the pizza made at Buca di Beppos over by Wilson Bridge outside Columbus.

If you leave that place hungry, its your own fault. The atmosphere, service and food inside is outstanding, like the old days.

Best pizza right now in the St Louis area is Papa Johns... because they are running a 4th of July special for all regular priced menu items, order online and use the promo code 4JULY and it's 50% off. Got an x-large pepperoni, bacon and three cheese blend pie and an order of chicken strips for the grand total of $11.34 last night!

50%? It's only 33% here...

Today seems fitting to post here since it's Papa John's Monday Mania, and all large pizzas are $8.99. I like LaRosa's more, but they're a bit pricey.

I also have to go with Papa John's for the wings, plenty of meat and the Honey Chipotle are the best I've ever had!

Toppings? Let's go with 6 cheese, beef, ham, bacon, and pineapple. Some people bawk at pineapple, but it really makes the pizza. I suppose it's the contrast with the meats.

In St Louis I'd go with IMO's thin crust. My wife recently rediscovered anchovies so we've been ordering them lately.

Good pizza ain't cheap , cheap pizza ain't good!

There a great old fashioned , 3-generation Italian pizza shop 4 blocks over. A large with pepperoni and sausage is $18 and worth every penny. I have walked there carried one back as they do not deliver. Still worth it.

About 10yrs ago , a Papa Johns opened right across the street. Wouldn't walk for one if it was free. Yeah , they deliver , $2.50 delivery charge , plus tip for driver.

The best from a chain is Pizza Hut.Before you kill me take my word for it,If you haven't been to the one in Nurnberg Germany you haven't had Pizza Huts finest.
And they sell real good beer too.;)

DG, are you talking about the PH in Nurnberg or the one in Furth? One of my brothers lived in the Nurnberg area for 14 years and managed both stores. You are right about the bier. Nothing like a good hefeweizen to chase down a slice or two of pie.

As far as state side pizza goes, the best I've had is Pete and Sam's in Memphis. Not really a chain as they only have one location. They have the best BBQ pizza you will ever put in your mouth, down your chin and in your lap. The crust is cracker thin and cracker crisp. MMMMMMMMMMMMM, I know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow!!!

I ate a lot of Domino's pizza in college and liked it then.
We used to go to Pizza Hut here, but it's been a while.
Had a standard Wal-Mart frozen pizza once. (Only once).
I tend to like the smaller operations better.

Some of the best pizza we made at home was made with breakfast sausage made with bear meat. I have only killed one bear but sometimes I think about trying to get a license in the bear tag lottery the MDNR runs now--so I could make some more bear sausage and more pizza using it.
