Does anybody have any idea what this is. An Old friend gave this to me and I have been trying to figure it out. I can't even figure out how it works. It won't travel far enough down to push the primer out. Small and simple but not.

That's an oldie for sure.If it won't deprime the shell,is it dropping far enough to resize the brass?
My guess on how it works.
Station 1: Deprime and resize.
Station 2: Reprime
Station 3: Drop powder (dipper),install wad, drop shot (dipper)
Station 4: Start crimp
Station 5: Finish crimp

I did a Google images search for old shotshell press, antique shotshell press, pacific shotshell press and nothing even comes close to what that thing looks like.

I would think that there should be some markings on this press somewhere. Maybe remove it from the base and look on the bottom.

LEE Load-All Jr.

There's a little sizing ring like is used on the current LoadAll press.
The one for the Jr. is thinner (less heigth). Works the same way though in that it sizes the brass down in the first
stage as it de-primes and then is pushed off the case in the priming stage.

You can load shells w/o the ring though,,they just won't be 'sized'. Generally they'll work fine in most guns, especially singles and doubles.

It's a Lee Load All Junior and according to Handloader's Digest it cost $14.98 in 1981.

If you ever want to make yourself suffer if for no other reason than to,,make yourself suffer while reloading shotshells,,,
Find a Lee LoadFast shotshell reloader.

It looked interesting and for the grand price of $5, I bought it still w/ it's box & instructions, but it had been 'used' a bit.
It was one of those 'I will make this thing work or else' type of things and I actually did get it to pump out reloads at a rate that far exceeded my Load-All that I had been using.
The return payment in misery and time spent keeping it working, clearing jams and cleaning up spilled shot and powder was astronomical.
I finally did wear the nylon (plastic) cam assembly out to the point where it wasn't a progressive press anymore.
Not one of Lee's better idea's for sure.
Not good enough for the dumpster,,I threw the remains of Mr.LoadFast into the crawl space.
You never know when you might need a part of two off of one.
Probably some good screws on it to salvage. Just haven't gotten to it yet.

MEC9000G works well for me now but the occasional nightmare keeps coming back.
I still use the LoadAll for BP loading.

After playing with it and looking at the stroke with and without a shell in it I could see that it goes farther than I thought. You just have to put more pressure on it than I'm used to. So now I have 3 reloaders, this, a Lee Load All, and a MEC 600 JR. 3 more Lee's for my rifles loads and 1 RCBS press, a sizer/luber, more bullets, more powder, slugs, buckshot, where does it end. I am going to have to get a bigger table. I think I will just put some of these up for now. I have a bigger room that I used to use but is is over loaded with stuff and can hardly walk through. When I built the garage on I built a 24 by 12 room in the back and thats where my loading room and radio room was. Need to get me a storage building to put this stuff in and get my room back.

I love hearing "Lee" stories!:p

I bought a Lee LoadAll Jr. for 5 bucks out of the junk pile and loaded about a ton of 12 ga on it.
Then I sold it back for 5 bucks....

That just isn't right oberon, I think you should send them another dollar at least. I haven't tried mine yet. The old boy that gave it to me said it was 10 ga but it isn't. He is in bad shape with a brain tumor and not doing very good. His kids moved him back to Pittsberg where they could take care of him. I get an e-mail from him now and then but they don't make much sense. He wants to come back and go shooting. I just tell him that I have it all ready and come down when you get a chance. He is a great guy and I miss him, a little weird and not much of a Obummer fan but not many are. Has, or had, enough ammo to take on a small country. A Vietnam Vet that is still a lot jumpy. I wish he could come down but talking to his kids it not sounding good. I just heard that one of his friends had a key to his house and most of his guns came up missing. Not much of a friend. God Bless you Bob, am I'm praying for you.

A friend of mine just can't help remarking whenever he sees the large, smooth edged, bright colored plastic Lee LoadAll presses, powder & shot bushings & Lee reloading accessorys at a gunshow..

"You know who really makes these ,don't you??"
