Man, and I thought I had an old 5904. I didn't realize any of the 3rd generation 9s ever came with that Phillips head screw on safety, I'd only seen them on 645s.

A friend of mine carried an early 1066 that had the phillips head screw on the ambi safety. The screw fell out several times while he had the gun. That screw was a pain in the ass as I recall.

That is actually a 659 upper on a 5906 frame.
It could be a transition piece, but the serial is a little high for that.

Is that why there are two red dots on the left side, one on the frame and one on the slide?

That, barrel bushing, screwed safety lever, and integral front sight
Most transitionals I have seen are in the TBx serial range
