I've noticed recently that the number of telemarking phone calls and emails have dropped to just about zero.

It's got to the point where I'm actually answering phone calls even if I don't recognize the number.

My email inbox isn't clogged with offers for stuff I don't want or need.

It's almost as if the Wu Flu targetted telemarketers and scam artists.

Its because two stateside telecoms companies that handle VOIP traffic were shutdown in the last month for knowingly supporting scam call traffic and helping to disguise call origins and numbers. That cut off a majority of the calls, but I still get them once a day, usually from someone within the US, or lately its been Indian scammers using a computer voice to hide their ethnicity.

I don't know why they both to keep calling me, I'm really mean to them on the phone, and just waste their time.

Either way is fine by me. Just glad that they have stopped. But when they call I am going to lead them on and waste their time until I make them so mad they hang up on me.

I usually answer in a "Oldman" scratching voice asking them over and over how they called me telling them I don't even have a phone [emoji1]. They pretty much hang up on me right away.

I get at least 2 a day, and now with elections coming maybe more. I never answer and then block the #. I did have some choice words for one pol. who disturbed my nap yesterday.;)

Like John said in the post above this one, one little press and all callers that are not in my contact list go straight to VM without a ring. Before the latest update, I'd found a way to do the same thing, and now I've forgotten how that worked as this is sooooo simple.

On my VM, I leave a clear explanation and, if you want to talk to me and you got my VM, just leave a message. Rarely does a scammer leave one and I don't call them back anyway.

Life is good again.

Bob

I still get the "we're shutting off your utilities in 30min if you don't pay us" and "your computer is sending suspicious signals" calls.

Callers

i've gotten to where I ask them personal question . what are you wearing . how do you identify sexually and others I can't post here . works quick for women but takes a little more effort for men . not proud , but it works and is a bit of fun on my end . kenny M T USA

Lately. Have received a few robos.
So bored, I’m watching train to Busan, again!
I don’t ever want to go to Busan!
Maybe I should answer some of the idiot phone calls!

I have noticed the phone calls drastically reduced also, India must be hard hit. The Social Security enforcement division must be down also, haven't had a warrant issued for me in several weeks. Junk mail also way down also.
