Only one gun.

Does this count as one or seven?

I'll play.

My interest is in carry guns, so I'd probably go with a 642-1.

I'm familiar with it and know I can shoot it reasonably well. It's not too expensive.

Most importantly, there are different carry options available, whether it's IWB, pocket carry, or ankle carry (these are the methods I use).

I had first thought about a Glock 19, but I think the carry versatility gives the 642-1 a slight edge.

Another vote for the 642-1 for the reasons given by the others.
And besides, I already have about 34 holster that will work for
a 642, so there's another good reason.

Is this like one gun that is needed to survive? Or sheer pleasure?

Survive- as cliche' as this sounds, I would go with a short barreled AR type weapon to fill self defense and hunting needs.

Pleasure- S&W 617

Time for fun thread.

So, for whatever reason, your collection is gone and you are only allowed to purchase one currently produced firearm, what would you choose?

What else is going on in the world......... Zombie apocalypse.....or just another day in the Burbs of the Burgh?

AR...... the lower is the firearm . .... so one could get 2,3 or 4 uppers..... 5.56/.223, .22 and .300 blackout....... 11-20" barrels

3 or 4" 686 the best utility/duty/general purpose revolver going..... snake shot to any .38 or full bore .357..... still small enough to carry concealed.

Given that the 6906 and PC shorty-9 are out of production....... a Beretta 92 Compact...... with a few Mec-gar 15 round magazines. not to Big not to small . Maybe a Centurion instead so I could get a .22 conversion kit.

My assumition is "In production" for the American market verses Made in America.

I would go with a Browning 725 Sporting 32" 4 battel set, only if the B 25 (Superpose) Sporting 4 barrel set isn't currently in production (It comes and goes!) I could do anything but conceal it!

If it has to be Made in America, a 3 to 3.5 inch 1911 in 45 ACP, that functions!

I'd go w/a J frame b/c it's something I've carried for 50 + years, and it's something I could always have with me. Second choice would be a 4" Model 66, albeit a bit harder to conceal.
