Paul needs prayers and/or a kind word.

He is struggling with pain and mobility. I just got off the phone with him after receiving his heart-tugging text.

I can't explain it as well as he so I will let his text do it:

"Rusty, hope all is well with you. I have missed the camaradarie of the old drift gang. They sure were a helpful distraction during trying times.

I have suffered with sciatica down my left leg. Just as that was improving, I developed a flaming case of cellulitus in the same leg. Leg was swollen, red, inflamed, tight, and painful. Instead of letting it develop into sepsis, i did the fool thing of going to the hospital. IV antibiotics and then they started making over my a-fib.

I was there almost 5 days. They let me out of bed once. Now I am weak as a kitten. Leg is not red or inflamed but still has swelling and pain. Hurts the most just trying to sit up. Must see improvement. Appreciate prayers. Sorry to drop this on you...but i figure you will have a thoughtful and witty barb to goad me forth. lol

Give everyone my kindest regards. I ain't dead yet and plan on mounting a triumphant return...just as soon as I can master the commode again without pain. Hi Ho Silver!!!"

Paul, you are a great friend to Ruthie, the kids and me and we will pray hard for your healing and comfort.

All my love, my brother.

Paul we don't know each other, but any friend of Rusty's can't be half bad ;) ;). Really sorry to hear what you are going through, and hope that triumphant return to all your friends here happens soon. Feel better Kemosabe

I'm really sorry to hear of the big guys problems and I do hope he gets better soon.
I also miss the camaraderie of the drifter gang.
I had my own run in with sciatica a coupla years ago and spent about a week writhing in pain on the living room floor, ended up with edema in my left leg and it was a real set back with my peripheral neuropathy.
Even after the pain and swelling subsided, I had problems just walking to the kitchen.
Took about a month or so to get any leg strength back.
I can understand what he's going through and wouldn't wish it on anybody.

Paul, to the best of my knowledge we have never met, but I can feel for you! I have had too many bouts with cellulitis in my mangled leg over the past 13 years, it sure isn't fun!

Prayers and best wishes for Paul and his family from the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey!
