You know that feeling when you buy something and it does absolutely everything you hoped it would? It fits, it feels perfect, you want to look at it all the time? You feel wonderfully satisfied that you made the right choice and you're happy every time you look or handle it? No? You don't know that feeling? Call Patrick and order a set of his American Elk stag handles for your favorite S&W. Then you'll know!
I bought this set off of a fellow forum member and Im not sure if they are a set from Mr. Grasshorn but I think they are. Here they are on my trusty 25-5.
This thread has been dormant for a while so I thought I'd bring it back to the top, with a couple pictures of my Model 63; sporting a new set of grips from Mr. Grashorn. They fit great and feel nice in my hand.
Thanks for reanimating this thread. At the time it started I didn't have any examples of Patrick's work, so I didn't really follow it closely. In the interim I acquired a nice set of N-magnas from Ohio Outdoorsman before his untimely passing. I like to think I am honoring both him and Patrick by putting them on this prewar Heavy Duty.
This is what a western lawman's gun ought to have looked like during the Great Depression (or maybe any time, for that matter.)
These smooth elk stocks were originally square butt versions for the Model 12 I reworked to fit my RB. Patrick graciously offered to modify them himself but I took a stab at it to save him the trouble. Great guy to deal with.
I have relatively large palms with short fingers. Patrick made my grips a tad thinner at the bottom than normal N-frame Magnas to accomodate me. I love them! I had them made with no "bark" so I wouldn't have permanent marks on my hand from shooting full-house .44 Magnum rounds. These were my first Grasshorn grips, but they won't be my last!
After I finally acquired a revolver nice enough to merit stags, Patrick came through.
A great craftsman who is a pleasure with whom to correspond.
And El Paso Saddlery leather compliments it nicely:
