People's vocabulary skills certainly are lacking

I'll sometimes use words of phrases from different languages. I've had friends from different cultures and they'd teach me some stuff and some of it'd stick. My Father taught me some Blackfoot when I was a youngster. I can count to ten in four different languages and to five in German (that's as high as Shultz counted on Hogans Heros).
Fortunately my wife understands me. Today I thanked her in Blackfoot and it occurred to me that just saying thank you was a mouthful of syllables.
I guess you could say that my vocabulary is the result of influences in my life.
Yes, I know what a bumperchute is, never used or even owned one but my wife has.

Example please? And why My Fair Lady? Sorry, but I don't get the reference.

It's a great movie just watch it anyway if you haven't seen it

Nouns into verbs is a long running joke.

For example Helicopter is a noun it's not a verb. How many times have you heard someone say "Let's helicopter him out of here"?

The correct way would be to say "Let's get him on board a helicopter and fly him out of here" :)

Only great minds can read this
This is weird, but interesting!

If you can raed this, you have a sgtrane mnid too

Can you raed this? Olny 55 plepoe out of 100 can.

I cdnuolt blveiee that I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd what I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in what oerdr the ltteres in a word are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is that the frsit and last ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can still raed it whotuit a pboerlm. This is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt!

Spell Check on your computer must be completely insane now.

OK, makes sense now...

Someone help,id like to find the perfect post in this thread--just to be able to incorporate the word: Apoplexy. :D

When the parents; reared in an earlier time; having lunch at "Olive Garden" learned the meaning of the prison system term; "tossing my salad", they were nearly stricken with,......"apoplexy".

And no doubt, resigned to never ordering a garden salad ever again.

Babushka is an interesting word. You and I may think of it as an article of clothing worn on the head. A Polish friend of mine uses the word to refer to the older ladies of the community.
It is actually a Russian word meaning Grandmother.

Beat me to it. iIm 100% Polish and grew up in a community full of Poles, Russians and other Eastern European mutts.

We did refer to any of the old woman as babushkas, but they also generally HAD a babushka on their heads too. My grandmother wore one all the time.

I recall on the old Monty Python show they called the old women wearing babushkas pepperpots.

While on the Subject!

You may pause for a MOMENT to study a MEMENTO.

You may FURTHER your ambitions but the store you're looking for is FARTHER down the road.

It may RAIN during the King's REIGN.

The WAREhouse is WHERE the ready-to-WEAR apparel is stored.

I'll BARE the whole truth so BEAR with me.

The storm's EFFECT will have little AFFECT on my travel plans.
