Hello all, and thanks for the help.
I just recently acquired a 32. cal s&m from my grandfather.
So now i am interested in the year in which it was manufactured, the value,
and any other knowledge i can get about it.
here is what i do know about it.
6 inch barrel,6 chamber revolver,fixed sights,5 digit serial# starting with 7XXXX.
on right hand side of barrel it reads 32 w.c.f. ctg.
leftside of barrel reads smith&wesson.
on top of barrel reads s&w springfield Mass. USA patented
oct.8.01 dec.17.01 feb.6.06 sep.14.09 dec.29.14.
Thank you for your time and i do apreciate the help. look forward to talking to you all soon.

My estimate would be that you have a .32-20 (AKA: .32 WCF or .32 Winchester) Hand Ejector from the late pre-WW1 era.

If so, this gun is built on the "K" Frame pattern.

It is generally taken that these guns did not have a heat treated cylinders until around 100,000 so I would be leery of shooting it with modern ammo. Under no circumstances should you use ammo marked "HV" or "High-Vel" as this is much more powerful ammunition loaded for pressures more appropriate for rifles and carbines. In any event it would be wise to have this gun examined by a competant gunsmith prior to shooting it, even with Black Powder pressure level loads.

Good Luck!

Drew
