Polarized Sun Glasses

Yep, and in the stores where you have to sign the credit card machine.

I have had 20 or 30 pairs of expensive RayBans, Oakleys, Serengeti, Vuarnet, SunClouds, and I will never again buy another pair that doesn't come with multiple sets of lenses. I now typically buy Tifosi Sunglasses from my local bicycle store that come in a hard zippered case with 3 sets of lenses, dark, light amber, and clear. I use the clear for shooting and range work on a cloudy day and the other two lenses depending on how bright it is. They cost about $65 and seem to be just as good as RayBans and I very rarely go outside without sunglasses on and highly recommend them.

so your not jerking my chain?

You must remember I know what your "Chain" happens to be attached to even if all your other "Attachments" are getting looser and looser!!!!

I spend a number of Years as a Photographer and Polarizer filters are a "Standard" piece of equipment for anyone who shoots out-of-doors. I much prefer shooting inside but have done my share of outdoor work over the Years. The Polarizer Filter takes the shine/glare off of most surfaces; unfortunately not metal so they are of limited use in photographing firearms.

Oh, they also let you see through many of the tinted windows on the market today.

ah.....I just got a polorizor for my Nikon 18-200 lens...havnt played with it yet, guess you need to rotate the filter for the correct effect?

Yes, and the angle of the Sun needs to be coming from either the left or the right at about a minimum of 45 degrees for the filter to work properly. Rotate the filter until you get the desired effect - usually the maximum reduction of glare. These are a bit hard to use with many auto focus cameras unless you have a tripod and can use both hands to work the lens/filter combination. This will make your colors kind of Pop as well so brighter colors will show more than pastels will.

Late to the thread but.......I have and wear Maui Jim's, Revo, and Serengeti sunglasses and love them all. I find myself wearing the Serengeti's most of the time and believe they are the best value out there in premium sunglasses.

I have both Glass and polycarbonate lens Serengeti's and tend to wear the polycarbonate a little more. They are lighter and I have found that to be very important in my comfort level. I ALWAYS make sure the glasses I buy have adjustable nose pieces as the fixed ones just do not work for me. All my Serengeti's are photochromic (lighten and darken automatically) and polarized and are great for anything I am doing. I wear Brown or Gray lenses depending on the glare possibilities and have worn them on extended 12 hour driving trips with no eye fatigue.

I have been buying online for a while now and the best prices and service I have found, especially on Serengeti's, is a place called Sunglassgiant. Google it up and check it out if you are looking for sunglasses and do not need to try them on before buying. They carry multiple brands at decent prices. I am not affiliated in any way with them, just a satisfied customer.
