That’s a sweetheart! Appears to be a post war Improved I frame - 1st Variation, coil mainspring with the round front sight, but not the barrel rib of the 2nd variation.

I haven’t seen one with the standard thumb piece instead of the flat latch!

Pre war/Post war. Shipped June 24, 1949.

Now there's a prize! A very scarce example in great condition!

Glad you showed it with side plate off so all can see it still has the 2nd style side plate mounted hammer block; a pre war gun right down to the pre war double pinch thumb piece, Flat silver medallions, and sharp cornered checkering border on the grips. Almost entirely pre war but was stamped with the 4 line address and shipped after WWII. It illustrates why it's known as a Pre War - Post War, as opposed to a Post War Transitional Model.

Those targets are classic and that one is gorgeous! Hope you’ve experienced it’s well known accuracy.

Yes I took it to the range last week and shot 50 rounds through it. It's very good. I had to try different ammo to get point of aim to match point of impact.
