Price advice for model 940

This is available locally, Washington state. I've handled it, cosmetics are very nice. Action is a tad rough, could use some smoothing and maybe lighter springs. Gun comes with no box, papers. moon clips, tools, etc. No nothing but the gun.

Seller asking $1k which I think is high given it's the bare gun. Any advice/suggestions appreciated.

Sounds high to me. A local shop had one with the box for about $800 a month ago. It's not there anymore.

i have seen them going for around $550-600 recently. the price on them has come down in the last year or so.

Way too high, though I wouldn't sell mine for any less than what I paid. I picked up a nice 940-1 at the WAC show a few weeks ago. It's up for trade in the classifieds if you want to take a look...being that we're both in WA, might be a convenient FTF deal if we worked something out.

Yeah, $1k...pass. The one I've seen at ~$600 recently was a bit rough. I'd think if you could get a nice one for $600, then that'd be an alright buy...assuming you wanted that particular gun.

I picked one up about 2 years ago for $475 less 5% military plus taxes. Guy knew what he had but the shop doesn't price gouge to match what he sees on certain auction sites. Bottom line, I wouldn't pay more than $700 for one in great shape. That being said if it is what you have your heart set on then it is worth whatever you're willing to pay for it. I'd bet that most of us here have spent more on one gun or another than we really wanted to only because we really wanted that gun. I know I have.

I've paid way too much more than once for guns. In this case I really lust for a 3" 940, but I'm not inclined to overpay.
