Price check on my 15-2 snubby

Thinking of putting my 15-2 up for sale or trade locally as I rarely shoot it and it just sits in the safe. Not sure what to ask for it. It appears to have been fired very little, but does have some holster wear on the wheel and end of barrel as well as a small scratch on the right side under the S&W logo. It also has someones initials, "S S" on the butt next to the serial number. Not a show piece, but a very good shooter. Thanks for any help

If that model 15 were mine, I'd ask four hunert and take $375.00 or $350.00 if I was feeling benevolent!

I just bought a near mint 15-4 with 4 inch barrel for $389 and a snub nose should be worth more. That said your has some holster wear and initals carved into the butt so I would think $350 is about what you will get.

A couple of years ago a model 15 snubbie even with the wear this one displays would have gone for more. Though the sellers on the auction sites refuse to acknowledge it, the market has gone back down on most items and people are being very particular what they spend their money on, or at least that is my opinion based on recent experience.

But there's always that buyer out there who just has to have one and can't seem to be able to find one. If you find each other you might do a bit better, but the reality is the advice the above posters have given.

Considering it's condition,if I could get $350,I'd take it and RUN! Around here,$300 tops.

Thanks guys. I paid $400 for it a few months ago from a pawn shop, so I guess I was on the high end. I just feel bad that it sits in the safe as I usually carry my 637 J frame snubby and would like to find it a new home. Thanks again.

ewww my dealing with pawn shops have been about the same... everyone give you nothing for what your trying to sell...and turn around and charge 150%-200% more than what they paid for it...they are a total rip off... usually if you are borrowing money on an item they give you more...but selling it will be WAY below what u want... usually dont buy from them either... do all my shopping from online stores or in classifieds... its a nice weapon im sure someone will pay $400 for it... you did

I doubt you will have much trouble getting your money back out of it. Snub 15's are in short supply in some areas of the country apparently and they usually don't last long here. There do seem to be areas that some of the posters here live in where they can find prices that I haven't seen in my neck of the woods in 10 to 15 years.

And you didn't pay too much - you may just have bought a little too soon

The value off that 15 (and many other guns) could change dramatically with the next newscast or headline. I seriously doubt they'll go down . . .

Snubbies of any model seem to bring more than the more standard barrel length. I paid $400 for my 15-3 a couple years ago, and wasn't disappointed.

I'd give ya 350 for it, but I've got to get rid of this dadgumbed humidor before I can buy another gun. Funds just got extreamly tight right now. I did just drop the price ot 600, so it ought to go pretty quick, but...........who knows.

I took a couple of pics of the 15-2 in the holster I assume it sat in for decades. It is a Rosco made in Germany. It has about the same "patina" as my gun. I can't use it since I'm left handed and have a Galco, so I offered it to another forum member. Anyone ever hear of these? Any idea of its age?

why, when they made these in the 2" version, they didn't come with round butts??? And, how come the model 67 was never made with a 2" barrel

It is Lapua police rounds. I got it with a bunch of .38/.357 ammo from a guy I bought my 66-1 from. I have not fired any of it yet, and not sure if I will. I have never seen it for sale anywhere so I assume it is somewhat rare, at least in the US. Here is the box.....
