Went to one of my favorite YouTube channel recently and started a search for a particular gun test I recalled them doing. I noticed I got a bunch of hits so I thought "I need to filter this lot". Trouble is, the filter icon no longer appears when I'm in a channel. The first picture shows the home page where i have entered the name of the channel in the search field. Note the "Filters" icon on the far right of the page. Follow the red arrow.:)

In this second picture, I am on the hickok45 channel and you can see its search field near the middle just to the right of "Posts". The "Filters" icon used to be to the right of that search field, but on my machine it has gone. Again, follow the bouncing arrows. :D

I am using an ESR version of Firefox, so it could be me, but I am suspicious of YouTube and their masters Google messing with stuff. Anybody else have the same issue?

First thing I would try is a different browser to see if that might be a issue. I had to change to Edge from Firefox to get the online version of our newspaper to work right. I still use Firefox for everything else.

Just tried Edge and Chrome (blech!) on the wife's up-to-date Win11 box. Filters inside a channel have gone, Google have fixed Youtube worse.:mad::mad:

The reasons are obvious. If you go to certain channels and search there, then there is no way for Google to feed you "preferred content" from other channels. Worse, it will take you fewer clicks to find it. Oh, the horror!

Remember the "Do no evil" days? Yeah, that was a long time ago.

A few days back youtube quit playing any content unless I logged in. It demanded I log in to prove I wasn't a bot. So I quit watching. Sometime later that demand was rescinded.
