Which is better as far as marterial, function and reliability? I'm looking at getting one of them, cant decide which. If it matters, I have a black dog 50 round drum.
Whats promag's reputation like?
ProMags are good for the receiving end of target practice. Trust me they are a waste of money. If you cant get oem get McGar.

As far as I'm concerned, the Pro-Mags are as good as the factory mags. I have used them for Steel Challenge and havn't had a single issue with them.
Maybe with the polymer 15-22 magazines, they got their act together. Their metal magazines are pretty much trash.
Their polymer AR15 magazines which are Magpul PMAG knockoffs are also junk. Knowing that, I would stay away from the promag 15-22 magazines.
Most of it is hearsay and poor shooting skills although there is truth in everything. I have used other Promag mags myself. The 22 round ones for the Rem 597 are the best you can get for that rifle, as they work even better than the Rem 30s. I have had 20rd mags for the Browning Hi-Power and while they worked I would not trust my life on them. Have not tried the AR mags but I have similar quality Thermolds in my safe and those will work but I also would not trust them in a SHTF situation like I would the Magpuls and Lancers. As for the 15-22 32s I have completely switched to them for speed shooting. They can be taken apart to be cleaned and they load just as well as the S&W ones. 32 rounds means I can do an entire Steel Challenge stage with one mag, instead of having to use a 25 and a 10.I am amazed, given their abysmal reputation, that they are still in business. I guess the old saying still applies ...
