PROUD on where your from! Ever notice?

showing my age

when I was younger all you had to tell people from anywhere else, I live next to CAL. CITY they immediately knew where you lived. How many of you folks know about CAL.CITY & the Great White Way?

Until it really got WACKY I was proud that that I was born and lived for a number of years in the San Francisco Bay Area.

San Francisco, used to be home not it's just a place I've spent time in.

Growing up in Florida I've heard countless tales of how much smarter bigger faster better everything is everywhere else but Florida.Somehow these folks can't find their way back to one of the many fine hiways we have leading out.

See ...I can take it..:p And by the way your not really in the South. Just sayin.

Well, I was until all the damn yankees moved down here.

BTW, I guess I'm part of the problem since I married one and she's now down here for good. :D

BTW2, glad to see that there's one yankee on here that can take a joke in stride. :)

If you've ever watched No Time For Sergeants...

I love the part where the psychologist tells him, "I'd rather live in a pig sty than the fanciest mansion in Georgia. What do you think about that?"

Answer: "Where you want to live is your business." :p

Maybe he said North Carolina in there instead of Georgia...I can't remember. At least it's south of the Mason-Dixon line. ;)

From my time in the service many years ago I always had folks from other states asking me why I liked Texas so much. Its not the scenery, lots places prettier, the weather is hot as the blazes in the summer and unpredictable in the winter (this years superbowl for example), quite simply, its the people that choose to live here, sure we have our share of low lifes and illegal immigration is certainly a problem but all in all its people that are down to earth, care about their neighbors, willing to help anyone thats in a bind and we still open doors and tip our hats to the ladies. We take pride in our property and teach our young proper manners. We stand when our national anthem is played and bow our heads when prayers are said. I'll get off my soapbox now.

I 've found that people from Texas will fight if you make too much fun of there state. Iam from Indiana...see it dont bother me at all.

I'm from southern California y'all.

It doesn't bother me when people make fun of Texas either.:D

My memories of Miami and surrounding areas are just that Memories.Things have changed so much that I don't know half of the time where I am when I go to places that I grew up.
Good memories of a long ago paradise.I keep hoping to find that again but realize times changed pretty much everywhere.
I still like it here but not as much.
Today it was 83 degrees or so.

I've lived in Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Washington, and Utah. I was born in the town I currently live in. I don't feel any amount of pride just because I'm from here, although it's certainly a pleasant enough area. Mild weather, and the only looming natural disaster would be quakes and/or tsunami.

I'd love to move back to Idaho, or western Montana, in the Kalispel area.

What's funny is that if a number of us, from all across the nation, were called to fight on foriegn soil, none of us would would tell them what state we were from. We'd just say, "We're from the US of A, and this is how it's done!"!!

Something funny about certian people being extremely proud on where there from. If you have been in the service you know what Iam saying. I find it funny.. Example... people from Texas and another... people from West Virginia.. Sorry that's " West Virginia by God".. I 've found that people from Texas will fight if you make too much fun of there state. Iam from Indiana...see it dont bother me at all.

Hey, at least Kansas had "Queer Beer" and you could drink under 21
but I'm from Arizona.
