Bought one of the Model 10-7's from J&G Sales that has no barrel. I bought a 4" Model 10 heavy barrel from Ebay.
Had the parts for the 4" ejector rod and center pin in my stash.
Took the gun apart, cleaned it up, and put it back together, using a semi target hammer instead of the one that came on the gun.
I screwed the barrel into the frame to see where it ended up, and I need to remove maybe 2 or 3 thousandths off the rear of the barrel. Time to chuck the barrel in my lathe and get it done. Maybe will do it today, but all the tools and the lathe are at the new house, so I have to make a trip to do so.
Worked on the gun today and got the barrel shoulder set back.
The garage was cold, as was the lathe, but I suffered through it. Came home and screwed the barrel into the frame and all was well, except that the Model 10 heavy barrel does not mate up to the front of the 10-7 frame, but since it's going to be a shooter and not a looker I'll let it slide.
Perhaps a standard Model 10 barrel would mate up much better contour wise.
