I went for an insurance physical today. My old buddy, cancer, the gift that keeps on giving, couldn't make it on his own so he decided to move back in.

So, if you would, throw out a prayer, a kind thought, read some tea leaves or toss some chicken bones for me. I'll take it all.

Ah hell, Rusty. I sure do hate to get this news.

You're only three years older'n me, so you're way too young to have to deal with this stuff -- just like I am. But I'm a member of the club too -- the one nobody wants to join -- having already been through a round that, so far has kept its head down ever since. But even after eight years in hiding, the stuff still has the ability to give me anxious moments before and every visit to the doc.

I'm sure grateful for the "extra" time, and I'm sure you are too. I just really feel for you having to face this again. Keep us updated on how you're doing, and meanwhile we'll be sending the prayer javelins speeding skyward. As fast, almost, as that wit of yours.
