I just acquired a 45c and am told it has an apex trigger kit installed. Does this look right? Just curious.

A picture of the actual trigger will tell the story. If the trigger has a "hinge" in the middle, then it has the stock trigger. If the trigger is one piece with a "blade" in front towards the bottom, then it has an aftermarket trigger, likely Apex. Hope this helps. The Apex trigger is better than the stock trigger, IMO. The M&P line is a good line, apex parts make it a great line.

Sorry...I was unclear if he meant the actual trigger...or the trigger spring kit..
Easy...as said. If it's a "hinged" two piece trigger, it's factory.
If it looks like a "Glock" trigger...it's Apex.

The above is correct about the hinged and glock like triggers. But if you have the trigger spring kit only then telling the difference will be harder to do IMO. Because different spring weights are hard to measure and would require a full take down of the pistol.

If the trigger is Glock style, its Apex. Hinged, it is "stock".

Remove the sear. If it has any yellow paint on it, it is "stock" sear spring. If not, its Apex.

If your sear is dark grey, its Apex. Shiny, it is "stock".

If the trigger return spring is more cone shaped, its Apex. If it has a slight step down in size at the end that attached to the trigger bar, particularly the last 4 coils, it is "stock".

Do you know what a stock M&P trigger feels like? If you do, dry fire it and you can tell if it had an upgraded trigger job. Or do a side by side with another M&P.

Thanks for the info guys. I know the trigger is stock but I didn't know exactly what the Apex spring kit consisted of. All of the visible components are much more polished than my M&P40 so I wasn't sure if a previous owner had replaced them or just polished them. The reset on the 45c is slightly shorter and much more pronounced than my older 40FS bit I wasn't sure if that was from apex parts or the improved stock I've heard about. The 45c had a fired casing dated 11/27/13 so it's a few years newer than my 40.

Either way it doesn't really matter much as I feel the trade was a good one with our without the aftermarket parts.
