QUOTES

When I was going through our Academy we were drilled with: "It not only has to be right, it has to look right".
Somewhere along the way I was given another pearl of wisdom that I have tried to live by, "Honor is doing what is right, even if no one is watching".

"When Voltaire was on his deathbed a clever priest came asking him to renounce the devil and all his works. ... It is said that on his deathbed, Voltaire, when asked to return to the faith of his fathers and renounce the devil, responded with, "This is no time to be making new enemies."

Benjamin Franklin: The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

one offer is better than a thousand lookers

want double your money? fold it in half and put it in your pocket ~ Lee Barner

Tell the truth and you never have to remember what you said.

A coward dies a thousand deaths - the valiant die but once

He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day

if you cant be with the one you love, love the one you're with

The tag line of my emails:

Those persons who are without principle have no basis for honor, to such a person nothing is sacred.

And this one:
A government powerfull enough to give you all you desire is powerfull enough to take all you have.

"If you want it done right, do it yourself."

"Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead." Ben Franklin
"You're not the only pebble on the beach."
"There are people who can't spend more than ten seconds a day thinking about anybody but themselves."
"It is better to be alone than to wish you were."

The book of Proverbs has too many to list here, but here's one of my favorites (Pr. 17:28, NKJV):

Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.

I've posted this before:

"We all can't be the brain surgeon, someone has to take out the trash." - my Dad.

He was a infantry medic in WWII and Korea. He would repeat this to me as a kid when he had a chore for me and I complained.

I only hunt on days that end in "Y".

Evolution is the doctrine of demons.

Your family tree has only one branch.

One man with courage makes a majority.......Andrew Jackson

Everything has beauty, but not everyone see's it.

In the end. it's the sum of your deeds that matter more
than the sum of your assets.

Retired. What do you do all week?
Mon-Fri I do nothing. Sat/Sun I rest.

Opportunity is missed by people because it's dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Men in denim built our country........Men is suits ruined it.

What's the best way to describe retirement.....The never ending coffee break.

A 9mm "may" expand......But a 45 will never shrink.

Big bullets go in like a dime and come out like a cash register.

Borrow money from pessimist.......They never expect you to pay it back.

Eagles may soar.....But weasels never get sucked up in jet engines.

.........more later.......msch......

I have misplaced my favorite quote from TR but it hit so close to home for me. I will quote it but the wording is not exact.

"Every man should take advantage of the situation, but the situation must present itself to the man. Without war their would be no great generals. Without occasion there would be no great statesman. If Abraham Lincoln had not been president during the Civil War, few people would remember his name".

"Luck is the intersection of opportunity and preparation"

"I am tired of making chocolate chip cookies out of dog ****" Dad
