Yesterday I was down at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
Was approaching an intersection in a wooded area when OMG!
About 30 Javelinas ran across the side road.
By the time I got stopped and out of my SUV they were in heavy cover.
Not to worry! Tail end Charlie's are everywhere, even Javelinas!

This is a local beach and amusement park. Currently shut down for the season but they open the beach for dogs in the off-season. My dogs love swimming and playing with dogs.

Now you might be thinking this looks a bit familiar? Well, if you walk on the boardwalk and wish to the Zoltan machine that you want to be Big, you may have an adventure...

Yes, this is where the Tom Hank movie Big had some scenes shot. Several other things have been filmed here over the years.

The place itself is loaded with history from its many original amusement rides, original wooden roller coaster, high-speed carousel, and an original carousel, and much more.

It's a fixture for every person in fifty miles, for generations.

I can remember riding the Ferris Wheel with my Grandfather fifty or so years ago.

I have lots of memories and we didn't go often.

My mom went as a child...

Watching the Rangers practice.

Now walking around the park with the new boardwalk and having the dogs on the beach.

When we finally get out of this area it will be a place I'll miss and have good memories of.

Darn on-line auctions! This is a hanging scale made by Luckhuas & Gunther of Remshield Germany, to measure the weight of buffalo hides. In very good condition. Two scale calibrations. Luckhuas & Gunther were noted to made swords, carpentry tools, pocket knives C. 1800's.
