With modern DNA testing it would be interesting to match the blood with one of the ill-fated occupants.

It's getting harder and harder to find places where the light pollution is low enough to take pics like that. I guess the Atacame Desert is safe for now.

Today's "Random Object" is Fort Lee NJ and it's appendage, the George Washington Bridge spanning the Hudson River.
Stayed in the city of Fort Lee many times for it's access to Manhattan, but only now discovered it's recreated Revolutionary War era fortress site along the south side of the GWB.
The bridge hides in the forts trees, appears in front of the battlements, and from upriver the fort on the right side heights next to to the bridge.

This big ol' boy came for a visit this morning.
He's mostly been huddling around the willows along the creek that runs through town this winter -- 230' below my driveway. He snacked on the aspen at the approach to my driveway before coming on in.
Handsome fella. He could stand to gain a few pounds.

I was strolling along on the streets of the old mining town of Bisbee AZ shortly after the sun had set. It was my habit to carry a camera with me, as I often encounter interesting things.
I was near the center of town near the old Phelps Dodge mining headquarters when I spotted this solitary old man sitting on a bench. I saw that he appeared to be from the 19th century from the clothes he wore.
Definitely a man from the past. I've never seen him since, and I visit Bisbee often. I snapped this photo quickly. Click on the picture, hopefully it will enlarge the image.
