Perseid meteor shower captured over Stonehenge

From the BBC:

A photographer has said it was an "immense privilege" to have his image of a meteor shower recognised as Nasa's astronomy picture of the day.

Somerset photographer, Josh Dury, took the shot on Friday as the Perseid meteor shower streaked through the sky above Stonehenge in Wiltshire.

Mr Dury also captured the central band of the Milky Way galaxy running nearly vertical through the centre of the image...

Here's the NASA article with explanation. Pic is a composite of 43 images.

Saw these in a secondhand store in Bellingham WA today.

This swamp cooler was apparently from a guy that had moved up from Texas and wanted to clear out his storage shed. Rarely gets hot enough here to get this behemoth running.

I have no idea what this is but I wa pretty sure I didn't need one, even for $5. Adjustable semi-concentric back scratcher? (If it's something that's been on your wish list for ages, it's at Penny Pinchers Estate Sales.)

That implement is for brushing out your various farm animals, e.g., a horse.
Or maybe a close friend with a hairy back? …….You had it right from the start.
I figured it had to be some kind of animal brush or comb but the spring adjustment had me baffled.

I have no friends - at least of the human variety - that I'd want to use it on, though :)

We called it a curry comb. Used for grooming horses. They enjoyed it, too.

EDIT - missed the post above for some reason. :(
