Southern New Mexico scenery. This is the southern tip of the Organ mountain range.

See that porchlight in the center of the picture? That's the "Oliver House" in the old mining town of Bisbee, Arizona. More than a dozen people have died in that house over the years - some under very strange circumstances. It's reported to be haunted by one or more of the departed.

Read more about that house here:

Haunted Lodgings: Bisbee Oliver House B&B | The Witching Hour

The building at the very top of the picture is a portion of the old Bisbee High School - my mother graduated there in 1929.

This mallard drake was sheltering behind our house during one of the really cold days a week ago. Obviously the cats were quite interested!

No idea why a mallard is still hanging around Nebraska in January, but there he is.

Probably didn't get the memo on the time and date of wheels up!

Just before you get uphill to Cloudcroft,

Here’s what left of the Mexican Canyon Trestle.

It was part of the old narrow gauge railroad that carried logs down to the sawmill at Alamogordo.

Is that still there? I remember seeing it back in the 80’s. Beautiful place; I remember being up there and looking down at the White Sands. Seems like I remember it being more complete and having the RR bed on both ends

Yes, still there.
Looked just like my picture the last time I saw it about a year or two ago.
