Tomato Red?

Magnum 500 Wheels

HiPo??

Yes.

I always called it Poppy Seed red. Ford calls it Signal Flare Red. Looks orange at night under the lights.

Yes.

Yes, but. The car originally had a six cylinder in it. 4 years ago we put in a 289 and built it up to a K code ~271HP. Having a real problem with it overheating. Found a 302 to drop in it and we will bench test the engine to see what the issue is. It is in the engine. New radiator, new water pump, new pullys and 160 degree thermostat. Still runs at about 220 degrees.

My house when I lived in new Mexico...April snow shower at 7,200' on the back side of Sandia Peak. Miss the place. It is too dang humid in VA.

PHOENIX - Now and then

Here's a study in contrasts. First, here's a recent photo of the Phoenix area I took from atop the South Mountain range just south of the Valley of the Sun, which is home to millions of people:

...and here is a description of Phoenix from a map of the townsite in 1885 that I looked at recently. Arizona was still a territory rather than a state at that time. Check the population on the last line!

I guess the only constant is change.

Was walking back into the house from the backyard past "The Bog", which is what Dad and I always called Mom's water garden. It is full of Hibiscus plants at the moment and many of them are about head height to me. Saw something brown amongst the greenery and when I took a closer look there was a large moth hanging from the bottom of a leaf with its wings hanging out on each side. Has a 4.5inch wingspan. Took a pic of it and then captured it as Mom wanted to identify which species. Turns out it is a female Polyphemus moth. I let it go afterwards and it landed on another plant where I could get a good top view and picture.

Here is one my Dad took on a business trip to South Africa in the mid 1970s. This is the Antipolis (nothing to do with today's rioters) an obsolete freighter which was being towed from Europe around the Cape of Good Hope to a scrap yard, I believe in India. Somewhere near Capetown in a storm the tug's towline parted and the Antipolis ran aground. It must have caused quite a stir locally, the folks my Dad was visiting went to see it and brought him along.
I believe even today the wreckage is a favorite diving destination. No long boat ride to get to it, that's for sure!

Ran into this moose at the Tetons while walking down a trail.. A park ranger came out of nowhere and told us to back off another 25 yards.

Beautiful! We just had a moose across the street this week in Suburban CT!! And there was a baby Fox and a large(20 lb.) kitty playing with one another up the block. I wish I had my new phone to take that photo before the fox gets too big!

I had a whole family of foxes living in my backyard in Mahopac a few years ago. One got caught in a trap intended for a groundhog, and after letting it go, one of the youngins became my friend, coming around daily. :D
