Back to the Madrid Cemetery.
There’s a bunch of ‘Arty’ stuff there.
I’m not an Art Guy,
When it comes to Arts and Crafts, don’t know much about Art but I’m very Crafty.
But this is my Favorite Display there.
Maybe because I am an Old Crow.
A few pictures of a cemetery taken at random, they have hundreds of these.
Tombs of Armour (the meatpacker), Joseph Paterno (NYC real estate), John H Harbeck.
Lots of famous people here, lots of places built and designed by well-known architects. It's a whos who of a past time in history. Also, regular folks are inturned here as well.
Stone Mountain, Panama City airport, over Atlanta on a hazy day.
i do have way too many random photos. With dual digital auto-pilots you end up with a lot of time on your hands.
This "random object" is also something that is increasingly rare to see. It's the 1.8 million pound roof of Georgia's Plant Vogtle Unit 4 reactor building being "flown" into place yesterday. It's the site's last major structural lift.
Vogtle units 3 and 4 are additions to the site's 1980's vintage units 1 and 2, and the only nuke plants under construction in the USA. At more than 14 billion dollars over-budget and counting, it may be a long time before another huge nuclear plant is attempted. Unit 3 took it's first fuel delivery last week.
Edit: I found a time-lapse of the roof of the other new reactor building at unit 3 being lifted last year.
FYI, when I worked that site in 83-84, I was told the large crane rental was a million dollars a month.
