I finished the installation yesterday on my new telescoping flagpole. I let the concrete cure for a couple of days. Temperature has been over 100 degrees for days and about another week before we drop back to high 90’s. No rain, all the grasses seeding early and turning brown.
Notice the 1939 John Deere, Model B tractor across the road in the background.

This is a picture of my neighbor and his 1939, John Deere Model B Tractor that shows in the background on post #5988. He won that 1939 John Deere Model B Tractor in a Raffle held at Dalhart, Texas at the Annual XIT Rodeo and Celebration Days 8 years ago. Lucky guy

This is a picture of my dad in the RAF in the 50's. He did his National Service as a armourer. Was a crack shot with a rifle. We didn't really get on , he died young at 62 . I was allways interested in weapons from an early age , this was probably down to him.
Additional info: The plane is a de Havilland Vampire, a British jet fighter which was developed and manufactured by the de Havilland Aircraft Company.

Two boys on a big rock. Just a couple of miles north of Wagon Wheel Gap, Colorado taking a break from fishing on the Rio Grande. Picture taken July of 2020.
The tallest boy is my youngest grandson and he starts Texas Tech University in the fall. The shorter boy is his friend from their neighborhood and he’s in high school now.

I lent a trail camera to my gf to keep track of the baby skunks in her garden. They seem to have waddled off now, but something has been nibbling at her fruit trees at the bottom of the garden, so she moved the camera and a murky, 2-legged visitor appeared, reaching up at something. Looked human...

A little fiddling with light levels revealed that it was a raccoon snacking on her Japanese plum tree.
