Random Object Photographs

Well, young PeeBee is no longer pregnant. Still hanging low in the belly from milk production but no longer broad as a barn. Yesterday was the first time I had seen her in 2 or 3 days. So I guess she had the kittens during that time. Not sure where they are, as they are not in the little cathouse I made them for winter. I will see if she will lead me to which yard they are in but I suspect it will be a couple houses down the way, as they have a lot of stuff to hide under in the backyard.PeeBee37.jpg

For once I actually am familiar with some "odd" object pictured on the forum.

The subject of opaul's picture is a wheel off of a rotary hoe, a farm implement I used to use when working my father's farm as a boy. A rotary hoe has two rows of these, the purpose of which is to break up the top couple of inches or so of hard, crusted soil, which hinders the emergence of recently planted corn or soybeans. To work properly the hoe has to be pulled through the field with the tractor in "road gear"(high speed). That was fun, but turning on the ends of the field could be a tad adventuresome if one wasn't careful.

Back to topic; great pictures folks!

Regards,
Andy
Exactly so my friend, my Uncle had a nice International 806, gorgeous tractor, and hooked up a very nasty, brand new "rotary hoe"! I rode the fender while he gave me a "check ride"!

He was so pissed when I came in for lunch and both sides had been in the fence? Don't know why that surprised him?? Oh he was pissed!! So we proceeded to tear that "rotary hoe" apart and took the main bar to the local blacksmith for straightening, oh it was miserable, damned thing...

Somehow, I survived, emotionally traumatized, but reputation for dinging tools, wings, fences, permanently etched in my Uncle's mind!! He even had to relate how a previous "hired man", "Steve Hoyt" had hit the concrete bridge abutment with his brand new "Shredder"!

Hang on! the ride is just getting started, billy
