By way of introduction, she decided she wanted a gun for HD. She chose the 632 for herself, liking the weight, balance, and fit of the grip. This was after shooting a 4" 617 (too heavy) and a Ruger .38 Special GP-100 (too heavy, too much recoil). We both liked the fact that she could start with the relatively light S&W.32 long, and work up to H&R Magnum, maybe even .327 Federal Magnum.
After some instruction in the basics by a range guy, she fired 36 rounds of S&W longs DA at 15 feet. She hit the 6" target dot 10 times out of the last 12 rounds, several right in the center of it. You guys might not be impressed but I sure was. Best part is she wants to stick with it and is willing to practice.
So far it looks like she made a good choice for a first gun, and since I really like the way it handles, I'll try not to be too upset if she decides she wants something different.
One time she couldn't release the cylinder. I was able to do it but it seems to me the release button is pretty stiff. I'll post more details in a different thread.
