"Rare" or "Beware" ?

Nickel finish is original IMO but since the nickel is worn through at the muzzle its a nice rare shooter grade 14-2 not a "NIB" package as described...

Someone put alot of effort into making a bogus package and they didnt know much about S&W's being its all wrong....

Here is what the 14-2 package is supposed to look like. Shipped 2/68, the grips number to the gun (as does everything else).

I knew there was something that bothered me about those grips on the 14-2; they were service style magnas! Thanks for the picture of the box.

Non diamond PC Magnas with deeper steel escutcheons are correct for a 1968 shipped 14-2 Dayton gun IMO,

the other one posted has shallow brass escutcheons more commonly associated with 70's era Magnas ,
Also its serial places it in the 1965 run so correct grips for it would have been diamond Magnas or diamond targets.

Notice how the 1968 silver box still has the solid border where the other one has a later blue box with rope border.
