Will be picking up an M&P .40 Core. Wondering what is recommended for the red dot MOA. I was thinking a 3.5 MOA but then I realized you would be looking thru it with arms extended which equates to 33" or so for me. So quite a bit farther than a rifle red dot. What size are you guys using and what are your thoughts and opinions?

Thanks!

I use a 7.5 for USPSA and Steel challenge. I find the larger aimpoint gives me quicker sight pickup.

I've got the 3.5moa on both of my M&P's, it works fine and is not overpowering at night.

This is what I was interested in. I am guessing you having a Trijicon RMR. Is the dot too small or do you feel you get more accuracy with a smaller dot?

thanks

I went with a 7.5 moa. The dot size at 25 feet is .625". A 3.5 moa will give you a .292" dot. I went with the larger dot for a faster acquisition of target.

I have hunted with 2moa dots for 25 years on revolversand still use a burris 135 speed dot but my core is running a green 9moa dot . That's only 2 1/4" at 25 yards . I also found the green is easier for me to see in variable light conditions from night to bright day light with out being to bright
