where is the best place to have your S$W refinshed

I would assume you are talking about a vintage S&W. If so, I would NOT use the S&W Factory because they are not doing the original bluing (for many years now). The bluing they currently offer is not the same look and it will also not stand up as well.

Fords has been bluing guns for a long time now and while I have not personally used them, they do get descent reviews.

I did use Midwest Gun Works twice for long guns and they did an outstanding job. They were reasonably priced, returned the finished gun in a few months and actually answered their phone when I called a couple of times.

There are a few others that re-blue guns and I'd bet others will soon chime in with that info.

First, what model S&W firearm are we talking about? Refinishing always results in either no increase in value and often it actually decreases its value.
