Red Dot???

[Caribou Migration]

I bought a red dot awhile back, and then a red/green dot for black powder shooting. I gave them up. I have a 10/22 Archangel build and a M&P15OR. I tried the red dot and red/green dot at the range on a bright day and lost the dots in both scopes. I see them being applicable in dawn, evening, or cloudy situations, but cannot trust one in full sunlight. Anyone else finding this?
