It's the shorter barrel. I really don't know if any long-barreled Nylon 10s were made with smooth bores, but I suspect not. I've never encountered one. I believe that the number of smoothbore barrels was produced as a batch early on and then used to make into complete firearms from time to time. It would probably be impractical to make smoothbore long barrels, since the longer barrels appeared only in 1964 and the demand for the smoothies was quite small. The smoothbore barrel on mine was made in the first year of Nylon 10 manufacture - January, 1962.
