Return of the Colt stainless Officer's Model ACP

I had a series 80 Officers Model .45 and didn’t care for the clunky trigger so I traded it off for a custom .17 cal Martini that I traded for a nice 625 Smith. I still have the 625 and its one of my favorite revolvers. Didn’t know enough then to remove the series 80 junk to make it a series 70.

Back in the 80's a co-worker sold guns. I tried to get an Officer's Model but all he could get was a Lightweight Commander. Still got it. I'm glad he couldn't get the Officer's.

I've had this Officer's Model since 1987. It shoots great with 230 gr. ball ammo but, absolutely loves 200 gr. wad cutters.

The stag grips were added but, I still have the original factory grips, box and docs.

I can't seem to straighten out the photos. Sorry.

I have not had a Colt, but I have had Rock Island Armory "Compact" in both 45 and 9mm. I had no problem with either, would digest about anything without a problem, hardball, Hollow Points, hand loads with any bullet. I used the mm to do all my 9mm load development, and I never had a miss-feed or failure to eject. I'd think if they can make them reliable Colt should also.

The 45 was far enough back I had to "enhance" with a beavertail safety and better sights.

I got what Hoffman's in CT told me was the first stainless Officer's gun they sold. Maybe like in 1985. $565.00 I think.

Seeing as how I was in Hartford 4 days a week, I walked it through the Colt Custom Shop front door, and had it polished to their ultimate finish and a complete action job done. The charge 100.00 even. It was a head turner. Put Grashorn grips on it too

I think I fired it once, and put it in the safe till last year when #2 son drew a bead on it. I gave it to him. I want another
