Revolvers S&W "Should" have made??

I wish S&W would get back into the .327 Federal Magnum. I would love to see a K Frame in .327 like the Model 66-8 in both barrel offerings. Doubt it will happen….

A Model 312 Scandium round butt and tritium night sights on a 2 or 3 inch barrel. Or just reissue the 315 Night Guard.

Off the top of my head...

Lastly, they should have never thrown in the towel on the D frame sized Model 73, C frame revolver.

I have a 2" Taurus 856 .38 Special +P in steel with a black oxide finish. I put a Galloway Precision spring kit in it, replaced the grip with a Hogue Monogrip, & replaced the pinned front sight with an Ameriglo tritium sight. The 856 and the 605 are also available in the 3" "Defender" with 2 front sights & 2 different grips. The 856 is available like mine or stainless in the UltraLite version, too. Mine has been flawless.

Just food for thought.

My dream revolver

A 4” blued N model S&W revolver, with a checkered bbl., and top strap, styled like a Mod. 27, chambered in .41 mag.
I would settle for any bbl. Length, metal, or metal material finish. Just for icing on the cake, of this hypothetical masterpiece, add a set of the 7 replaceable front sight blades, and fitted cherry wood presentation case, like comes with a .44 mag. Magna-Classic Mod. 629.

A stainless/alloy Model 12 snub in the late 1990s would be on my must-buy list (no lock, modern metallurgy).

Because Rossi beat them to it (the M720) and also did an uncharacteristically good job of it. I own one, and it is quite a well-made revolver with none of the customary Rossi/Taurus flaws.
Just guessing, but I suggest S&W wanted to go Rossi one better, rather than appear to be a complete copycat, like they later did with the S&W Judgernor.

Favorite N Frame That Should Have Been

So how about an N frame round butt fixed sight with 3 & 1/2" barrel .357 perfection. Found this from a forum member.

627 Mountain Gun. Also a stainless version of the Lew Horton 3” 27 8-shot.

8 shot 627s with normal looking standard round barrels of any length, and no lock. They must have wrongly assumed that the 'slab side' barrels were what everyone wanted when many more people didn't want them.

A 627 with a 3 7/8" round barrel and lock was in production for only a very short time.

Lots more 3" 625's or 25's in 45acp. LOTS more!!!....

I've always wondered why a blue version of the 3" 625 was never produced by S&W. Jovino did what S&W should have.

I would like a model 60, 3" hvy barrel, adjustable rear sight, fiber optic front sight, TH/TT, target stocks, with a 6 shot cylinder in 22 TCM. If I ever win the lottery I will have it custom made. just because!
