It would be nice if some here would show some respect to the two officers killed in TX as they have these "protestors".
The only thing embarrassing is that ten years later there are still people obsessing over defending Zimmerman.
Sometime I think that one reason some folks are so desperately defending even the dumbest use of guns by anyone is that in the back of their minds they realize that if they ever draw their gun, there is a good chance they'll screw up too.
Being served a search warrant and having your property seized is most definitely a presumption of criminal liability.
Still amazed at your insinuation that people who carry guns for self defense are screwups.
Yes, very good. Now, watch the video linked below where you can clearly see the gate is intact as protesters walk through it. My point, as this video confirms, is that the claims being offered by some that the couple saw property being damaged then confronted the protesters, is demonstrably false. The gate was still intact when the couple armed themselves and went back outside.
I once served on a jury for a sexual battery case. We found the defendant innocent because the prosecutor did not prove their case. To a person, everyone in the jury wanted to find that man guilty of being an idiot and a screw up. Unfortunately that wasn't what he was charged with.

Strawman.
Of course we are sad and disheartened at the needless loss of the two officers life. It's devastating.
But it also has nothing to do with this thread.
Not everyone here is...not by a long shot.
Seriously?
How did we get from discussing two idiots waving guns around in an unsafe manner, and whether there was justification in them getting their weapons taken from them.... to people on here (many ?) not being upset at the loss of two officers losing their life's protecting us? I've been wrong many times before, but that's a crazy assertion that I'm not sure I believe. If true, they are no friends of mine.
Two important points:
The mayor doesn't live on that street and that street is not "on the way" to the mayor's house.
.............
They weren't defending themselves or anything else from any angry mob, they were brandishing guns completely unnecessarily at protesters walking past their house on the way to the mayor's house.
The legal situation is apparently murky, and their lawyer is in discussions with the DA. But it's clowns like this who do more damage to the reputation of responsible gun owners and are a bigger threat to our 2nd Amendment rights than anti-gunners.

Knew of a young officer who drew
his pistol after being verbally abused
by a motorist who was quite
intimidating.
That rookie was admonished by a
senior officer who asked,
"So what was your next move after
drawing your gun?"
Brandishing a gun is usually not a
good idea. By the way, Missouri law
covers such an action by a private
citizen as potential "assault."
Not everyone here is...not by a long shot.
The video I saw on this made me think they were a couple looking for
attention more than fearing for their safety/life. First of all if I were
fearing for my life I would be behind some cover not standing out
front waving guns around and the wife with one hand on her hip.
Of course I was not there and don't know what they perceived as
to the threat. But I thought some strange behavior.

The fact this "peacefully assembled group of protesters" entered this gated community by tearing down the gates seems quite threatening and intimidating to me. This felonious entry and gate destruction is almost never mentioned and never shown as a video.
