Just got a text from Rusty, and gave him a call. I've cut and pasted his text below. As you can see he is most happy!

"I go home tomorrow. The two stents were successful and all my numbers are dropping to normal ranges.

An endoscopy doctor, a gastric surgeon and a hematology oncologist all told me this morning that even though my biopsy results aren't back yet that they all believe the cancer is localized and treatable with surgery and chemo.

I am an old hat at surgery and chemo so I've got this. I have been doing a lot of tearful praying as I was truly scared but after the answers I got today a great peace has washed over me and I am heartily encouraged.

Ruthie and my family are besides themselves with hope and joy.

Praise be unto Him."

This short report made me feel better than I have felt about anything for quite some time. So all credit to (1) Rusty for lifting my concern about his immediate circumstances, and (2) the follow-on halo effect that greatly improved my attitude about the rest of the universe.
