Rusty Update **New Update Post 378**

Thanks again for the updates. Some lyrics from George Strait's song "Rent", sort of reminded me of Rusty:

Sometimes we'd just sit and laugh
About girls and dogs and friends we had
He said the gooduns are the hardest to come by
And I'd let him tell me 'bout the days gone by
He'd bait his hook, wipe his brow
Start resurrecting ups and downs
We'd drift offshore while the daylight burned
And I'd hang on to every word

He said, "I've done my share of living
Found a woman who was willing
And through the years I learned how to bend
Until that roll is called up yonder
I can't help but wonder
If I even did enough to make a dent
But I made a few good friends
And I always paid my rent

Sure hope that when Rusty gets better, he continues his postings. He's made some dents, made some of us think a bit, and he's paid his rent by making us laugh. Thanks, Rusty. -S2

Got a text from Rusty around 12:30 AM.

He said his energy has been depleted, and he's looking forward to a good nights sleep after 6 days. He's too happy to be home, but has a lot to unpack and process, and not in a chatty mood.

Also said when his head unfogs he'll be back on the forum.

He's got more important things to concentrate on than blabbing with us monkeys. I do look forward to his return, but first things first.

Just got a text and call from Rusty. He said it was okay to post the text.

I'm sure he'll be up to forum shenanigans soon.

"I slept 13 hours straight last night. It was mausoleum quiet. No call bells, no nurses chatting in the hall, no one waking me up in the wee earlies to take my vitals, take my blood, change IV bread bags, change heart monitor batteries, no bucking bronco pneumatic bed cycling every 15 minutes...it was a peaceful sleep.

I curled up next to my lovely live-in nurse, wrapped myself in an eager to see me cat quilt and went to sleep most content.
I feel better today.

There's no place like home."

Thanks for the update.

Under the circumstances, a iive-in nurse and a cat quilt is about as good as it can get :) Carry on, sir!
